Getting started
Nametags documentation
How to set up Nametags, wear your nametag on calls, design tags, and run Nametags for an organization.
Nametags puts a name, role and company tag on your video in meetings. It looks the same on every call and follows the rules your organization sets.
There are two ways to use it:
- The desktop app for Mac. It adds a camera called Nametags to your Mac. Choose it in Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex, Slack or any other app that uses a camera, and your tag is on your video.
- The Zoom app. Nametags runs inside Zoom itself and adds your tag with Zoom’s own video effects. There’s nothing to install on your computer.
Either way it’s the same app, with the same settings, account and tag.

The pieces
- Your nametag is your name, role, company and logo, drawn in one of six styles and placed in a corner of your video.
- Your account keeps your nametag. Sign in on another Mac or in Zoom and your tag is already there.
- Your organization is decided by your work email address. It can fill in, lock or hide any field on your tag. When it does, you see a Locked badge on that field.
- The admin console is where your organization’s admins set those rules, manage people and groups, upload brand logos and backgrounds, and schedule seasonal ones.
- The Nametag Builder is a separate design canvas for trying out nametag designs in your browser.
